Red Chilli Crackers is registered under the Indian Explosives Act, 1884 and licensed by the Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), Government of India.

Who can buy & use

Under Indian law, fireworks are explosive goods. Purchase is restricted to adults; use must be supervised by adults.

Before you fire — the 90-second checklist

• Set up on a flat, hard, fire-safe surface — never on grass, carpets, or wooden decks.
• Keep 6m clearance from people, parked vehicles, hanging clothes, and overhead wires.
• Place a bucket of water and a bucket of dry sand within 2m reach.
• Wear cotton clothing. Avoid silk, polyester, or anything synthetic.
• Tie back long hair. Remove flowy dupattas and scarves.
• Have a charged phone and a torch ready — power often dips during Diwali night.
• Brief children: where they stand, when to clap, when to step away.

While firing

• Light fuse at arm's length using a long stick incense or a 30cm sparkler.
• Step back 4m immediately. Never bend over a lit cracker — even if you think the fuse went out.
• Only one cracker per person at a time. No cluster firing.
• If a fuse fails, wait 5 minutes, then douse with water from a distance.
• Aerial shots: ensure base is weighted (sandbag or brick) so it doesn't tip.

After firing

• Soak spent cracker debris in water before disposing.
• Sweep the area with a damp broom — avoid plastic brushes.
• Wash hands and face with soap before eating sweets.
• Don't sleep with unburst crackers stored under the bed (yes, this is a real reminder).

Kids & supervision

Red Chilli's Kids Safe range (32 products) is low-smoke, low-sound, and reviewed for hand-held safety. Even so, adult supervision is non-negotiable.

• Children 5–10: only sparklers and ground spinners, with adult holding their hand for the first lighting.
• Children 10–14: may light flower pots and small fountains under direct adult watch.
• Under 5: spectators only, behind a 5m safety line.
• Never let kids carry crackers in their pockets — even unlit ones.

Storage & transport

• Store in a cool, dry place — under 35°C — away from kitchens and electrical outlets.
• Keep at least 2m from any open flame, candle, or diya.
• Do not transport in the same vehicle as fuel cans, paint thinners, or aerosol cans.
• Red Chilli shipments arrive in fire-treated kraft outer boxes — leave them sealed until use.

Supreme Court bursting hours

India's Supreme Court has mandated time-bound firing windows. Red Chilli respects and reinforces these rules. Local police can fine violations up to ₹10,000.

Some states (Delhi NCR, parts of Maharashtra) have additional restrictions on barium-based crackers. Always check your state's pollution control board notification.

Things you must never do

• Never light a cracker held in your hand (except a sparkler, planted firmly).
• Never modify, tape together, or split a cracker open.
• Never relight a dud — soak it in water for 30 minutes first.
• Never light crackers inside a closed room, balcony, or near gas cylinders.
• Never let pets near the firing area — keep them indoors with music playing.
• Never store crackers near the cooking gas cylinder or pooja diyas.
